It is desirable in U-shaped closure clips for bags, hoses or the like, which clips consist of a wire portion with a virtually constant profile over its length, to improve the profile compared to known clips in such a way that a further saving of material is achieved whilst maintaining the same resistance moment and the guiding in the clip guide channel is substantially improved by the design of the clip profile. This is achieved in that, in a profile whose height is greater than its width and in which the inside (4) of the closure clip (2) is wider than the outside, the side surfaces (6, 7, 9) of the profile (1) have symmetrical shoulders (8) on both sides in the region of the bending plane (16).
