Novel benzothiazepine derivatives of the formula …CHEM… wherein R1 and R2 are each lower alkyl, R3 is hydrogen, lower alkyl or hydroxy-lower alkyl, R4 is hydrogen, halogen, lower alkyl, lower alkoxy, lower alkylthio or nitro, and A is lower alkylene and processes for preparing same are disclosed. Said compounds (I) and pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salts thereof in form of pharmaceutical compositions are useful as cerebral or coronary vasodilators.
