Process comprises adding an 5-triazine deriv. of formula (I) to the wood (pulp) during the pulp processing and continuing the processing. X = NH2 or OH. Pref. the 5-triazine deriv. is added during the bleaching process. The wood pulp processing may be thermomechanical in which case the 5-triazine deriv. is added during the refining stage, or it may be (semi-)chemical.
