Heterocyclic cpds. of formula (I) and their salts (where B=a gp. (Id), (Ie) or (If), the dotted line being a bond when B=Id or If and absent when B+Ie; R=H, mono- or di-halo, amino, nitro, cyano, hydroxy, trifluoromethyl, mercapto, lower alkyl, lower alkoxy, alkanoyl, lower cycloalkyl, carboxy, akoxycarbonyl, mono- or di-(lower alkyl)amino, alkanoylamino, lower alkylthio, lower alkylsulphonyl, sulphamoyl (opt. lower alkyl substd.) or phenyl (opt. substd. by halo, lower alkyl, lower alkoxy, trifluoromethyl, hydroxy, amino, cyano or nitro); X=S, SO, SO2 or C=O; A=(Ia), (Ib) or (Ic); n=1-4, R1=H or R2CH2-, R2= mono- or di-(lower alkyl)amino, mono- or di-(lower alkyl)amino-lower alkyl, 2-furyl-methylamino, benzylamino, 5-7C cycloalkylamino, 1-pyrrolidinyl, 1-piperidinyl, 1-hexahydro-azepinyl, 1-octahydro-azocinyl, 3-thiazolidinyl, 4-morpholinyl or 4-thiomerpholinyl and R3=H or 1-piperidinyl-methyl, with the condition that when R3=1-piperdinylmethyl, then R1=H). A=(Ia), (Ib) or (Ic); X=SO2; B=(Ie) and when A=(Ic) then n=3 and one of R1 and R3=1-piperidinylmethyl and the other=H.
