Abstract:A METHOD FOR INDUCING SUPERPLASTIC PROPERTIESIN NONSUPERPLASTIC METAL AND ALLOY POWDERSA method for inducing superplastic properties innonsuperplastic materials, metals or alloys, by mixing inpowder form, the nonsuperplastic material with a secondalloy having superplastic characteristics. The powdermixture is compacted into a billet and superplasticallyformed. The grain boundaries of the nonsuperplasticmaterial are subsequently restored by heating the formedbillet to a temperature slightly below the melting pointof the second alloy.
