PROCESS FOR THE MANUFACTURE OF COARSELY CRYSTALLINE TOMONOCRYSTALLINE SHEETS OF SEMICONDUCTOR MATERIALABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSUREThe invention provides a process for the manufactureof coarsely crystalline to monocrystalline sheets and/orplates of semiconductor material of preferred orientation. Ameniscus of molten semiconductor material comes in contactwith a moving, cooler substrate of the same coarselycrystalline to monocrystalline semiconductor material, duringwhich, while transferring the preferred orientation, a thinsheet of the semiconductor material is pulled onto thesubstrate and, after cooling, becomes detached from thesupport. The substrate can be reused as often as desired.
