IMPACT RESISTANT BLEND OF POLYESTER RESIN, POLYCARBONATE RESIN AND GRAFT COPOLYMERS OF EPDM OR EPM

ABSTRACTDisclosed is a blend of (a) polyester resin,(b)polycarbonate resin and (c) graft copolymer of atleast one polar monomer on an ethylene-propylene- orethylene-propylene-non-conjugated diene rubber spine, theproportions of (a), (b) and (c) expressed in parts byweight per 100 parts of (a), (b) and (c) being asfollows:(a) 20-90(b) 5-60(c) 5-50the said polar monomer being selected from one or more ofstyrene, acrylonitrile and methyl methacrylate, in anamount of about 5-75% by weight of the graft copolymer(c). This blend has unexpected properties, especiallyhigh impact strength in combination with heat resistance.Also disclosed is a method of making such a blend.
