Date May 22, 1986.In order to enable extremely accurate length dimensions of working gauges, a method and measuring system is provided which includes both special standard gauge blocks and special working gauge members, as well as an associated specialized measuring device by which a working gauge may be produced through a simple length adjustment of two mutually fixable displaceable elements. The adjustment is effected in the measuring device by comparison with the dimension of a pre-measured standard gauge block. The gauge blocks and working gauges may be similarly shaped and include, for example, a cylindrical body and a measurement defining pin projecting therefrom, thereby resulting in an inexpensive manufacturing of the gauge blocks and an easy adjustability of the working gauges.
