Method for manufacturing wood flour-filled polypropylene sheetings

The process involves introducing wood flour which has a water content of from 2 to 10 % by weight and has a mean particle size of less than 100 mu m into a polypropylene melt stream, removing the volatile constituents by means of two degassing nozzles, of which one is arranged before and the other after the point of introduction of the wood flour, and then cooling and solidifying the melt. The formable sheeting produced can be converted into automotive parts.
