BRAIN ELECTRICAL ACTIVITY ANALYSIS AND TOPOGRAPHICAL MAPPING

In a method and apparatus for displaying a topographic map (Fig. 5A) of the electrical activity of the brain of a patient, the input signals (14 in Fig. 1A) indicative of the patient's brain activity are detected and evaluated (40 in Fig. 1A) by the device that is governed by a computer software programs (recorded at 29 or 53 in Fig. 1A). The detected signals undergo interpolation line by line (Fig. 3) and are processed to generate output signals (47 in Fig. 1A) of topographic maps characteristics of brain electrical activity. The apparatus may also be controlled from a remote central location from where the signals are measured on the patient, and the computer software can be selectively discharged from a remote source for data analysis purposes .
