The method entails the microorganisms and/or cells to be investigated being inoculated into a nutrient medium containing a chemotherapeutic and incubated therein, and their growth behaviour being determined, where the inoculated nutrient medium is brought into contact with a sterile nutrient medium, which likewise contains the chemotherapeutic, in such a way that nutrients, chemotherapeutic and, if required, metabolic products of the microorganisms and/or cells, but not the microorganisms themselves, permeate between the nutrient media.
