This auxiliary device makes it possible to better gauge the accelerator pedal movement, in that a fulcrum is provided in the pedal travel by a stop (23). This stop lies in the first third of the pedal travel and its position can be adjusted by means of a control knob (8). The rotational movement of the knob (8) is converted into a longitudinal displacement of the stop (23) by means of a threaded sleeve (2) with a large pitch helical groove.
