A solution pump in absorption heat pumps is to be driven with the coolant or solvent vapour of the heat pump. It is constructed in the form of a piston machine, in which, in a working cylinder (3), a working piston (5) swings to and fro as a result of alternating lateral vapour pressure. Connected to the working piston (5) are pump pistons (10, 13) which suck the liquid into pump cylinders (14) through suction valves (15) and press it out through pressure valves (16) with a simultaneous pressure increase.
