A plastics pocket-type bearing cage for radial cylindrical roller bearings having elastically deformable holding projections (5) arranged on the cage webs (3) is produced in an injection mould or casting mould provided with radial slide bars (1). In order that the weld line elevation does not restrict the roller running and the pocket-type bearing cage can be produced in the mould economically and without difficulties on account of a large venting cross-section in the region of the holding lugs (5), at least some of the radial slide bars (1) are provided, on the sides facing the mould cavities (7) for the cage webs (3), with in each case one venting pin (6) or the like which is made of a porous material and is arranged so as to engage on one side in the mould cavity (4) of a holding lug (5) and bears against the opening of a venting channel (8).
