A process for the preparation of solid nutrient medium for the cultivation of microorganisms and cultures of cells of macroorganisms is proposed and entails the copolymerisation of acrylamide and N,N'-methylene-bis-acrylamide in a ratio by mass of 15.0-20.0:0.019-0.132, and the polyacrylamide gel produced after washing being kept in a physiological solution until the mass has increased by 2.8-4.5 times, with a subsequent treatment with liquid nutrient medium, or the polyacrylamide gel obtained after washing being exposed to swelling in a liquid nutrient medium until the mass has increased by 2.5-3.5 times.
