A combined device for utilising the exhaust gas energy as drive force in internal combustion engines, produced in that a combined interaction of a gas drive unit in the form of a turbo rotor, which is charged with the exhaust gas of a rotary engine and a further recombustion is produced in its working range by feeding air into the gas flow, with simultaneous reduction of the CO and CH content in the exhaust gas, and subsequent tapping off of the exhaust gases by way of a catalytic converter results in further control of exhaust emissions, power being transmitted to the transmission clutch either directly or in combination by way of a freewheel coupled to the engine shaft.
