Control arrangement for a laundry dryer working on the drum principle, with an indicator device and with a programmer and a laundry-moisture measuring device constructed in the manner of a bridge connection, which makes it possible to carry out the drying process as a function of the moisture content of the laundry, the indicator device indicating in steps the degree of drying of laundry reached during the executed drying programme. The control arrangement is extended by a circuit part which makes it possible to preset the final cut-off value according to a desired final residual moisture in the laundry. The circuit part contains a comparator, in which the preset indicated value and the cut-off value are compared. The laundry-moisture measuring device is preset to the greatest measurable moisture content of the laundry, and, after this moisture content is reached, the laundry moisture content obtained is indicated by switching the programmer further. The preset indicated value is adjusted according to reduced laundry moisture, and this operation is repeated until the adjusted preset indicated value corresponds to the final cut-off value according to the preset desired final residual moisture of the laundry.
