It is known in the case of short faces to integrate working, conveying and support in one device. In this case, it is a special support, a double-strand scraper flight conveyor as well as a continuous chain belt with, incorporated therein, loosening tools and carriers which revolve vertically on the face side of the scraper flight conveyor and on the face side of the roof members. The invention envisages in contrast arranging two support frames 24, 25 one behind another and displacing them relative to one another by pushing rams 46, 47. Connected pivotably to the front support frame 24 is a conveying trough 7. Articulated pivotably on the face side of the conveying trough 7 is a guide rail 8. The guide rail 8 is pivotable relative to the conveying trough 7. By means of the pushing rams 46, 47 between the support frames 24, 25, the face-side support frame 24 and with it at the same time the conveying trough 7 also as well as the guide rail 8 can be displaced. Guided in the guide rail 8 and in the conveying trough 7 is an essentially horizontally revolving chain belt 12 with, incorporated therein, loosening tools 10 and carriers 11.
