The invention relates to a device for cleaning heat exchangers of plate-type design for the purpose of recovering heat from the exhaust air of wood-drying systems having heat exchanger plates, which are arranged in series next to one another with the formation of gaps, and having exhaust air guided between the heat exchanger plates. The heat exchanger plates have aligned passages for a burner lance with radially emerging flames. The burner lance is mounted such that it can rotate and be advanced.
