Traffic light signal remote control method and universal safety device for road signalling installations using this category of signals

The present invention results from a reflection on the technical means necessary to improve the safety of the user and the conditions for making use of the traffic light installations at crossroads. It relates to: 1. A remote control method 1 for the two-colour or three-colour signals; especially making it possible to identify defective lights, in an assembly connected to a "multipoint" (fam. garland) supply circuit, with a view to an appropriate processing according to the risk for the user. 2. A universal safety device - including the elements necessary to monitor the operation of the installation by applying the remote control method - capable of locally supplying (in the signal control cupboard) and remotely (by data transmission path) all the information useful for instantaneous tracking of the operation of the installation and for subsequent incident analysis (in the event of the lights being set to flashing for safety, following an anomaly of such a nature as to disturb the traffic or likely to cause accidents).
