CONTROL OF COMBUSTIBLE GAS TREATMENT IN COKE-CHARGING HOPPER OF RED-HOT COKE DRY-QUENCHING FACILITY

PURPOSE:To enable the treatment of combustible gas in the hopper of the titled facility in high efficiency, by introducing an inert gas for the cooling of a circulation system of a main body into a hopper at a flow rate controlled according to the concentration of a combustible gas in a coke-charging hopper and burning the mixed gas in a catalytic reactor. CONSTITUTION:Coke 1 is charged into a coke-charging hopper 2. An inert gas 5 for cooling is taken out of a circulation system of a main body including a cooling chamber 6 and introduced into the hopper 2 during the period before the concentration of the combustible gas G in the hopper 2 is decreased below a prescribed level. The mixed gas in the hopper 2 is taken out. When the concentration peak of the combustible gas in the hopper is lowered below the second prescribed level after the lapse of the above period, the flow rates of the cooling inert gas and the mixed gas are changed to respective first rated treatment flow rates and when the peak concentration is above the prescribed level, the flow rates of the gases are changed to respective second rated treatment flow rates. Thereafter, the concentration of the combustible gas in the hopper is adjusted below a prescribed level by adjusting the rated treatment flow rate. The mixed gas taken out of the system is mixed with air 33 and burnt in a catalytic reactor 32.
