METHOD FOR PRETREATMENT OF GASIFICATION FOR COAL LIQUEFACTION RESIDUE

PURPOSE:To raise softening point of coal liquefaction residue readily at relatively low temperature and in a solid state without damaging properties as a gasification raw material of the liquefaction residue, by grinding the coal liquefaction residue and treating the ground residue at a temperature = the softening point of the residue and in an oxidizing atmosphere. CONSTITUTION:Coal liquefaction residue is ground into particle size (about =100 meshes) suitable for gasification and treated at a temperature (preferably temperature which is about 20-50 deg.C lower than the softening point and =70 deg.C) =the softening point of the residue and in an oxygen-containing atmosphere to raise the softening point of the residue. The treatment method is carried out preferably by direct heating in the case where sintering exhaust gas is used and preferably by indirect heating in the case where an exhaust gas with low oxygen concentration such as boiler waste gas, etc., is used.
