PURPOSE:To confirm the function of a watchdog timer by starting the watchdog timer after the titled equipment is set to the test mode and counting the consecutive time of its output signal. CONSTITUTION:After the equipment is set to the test mode, a time limit measuring instruction (a) is inputted from a key input device 1 to a central processing unit 3, then the watchdog timer 4 and a counter circuit 5 are started. As soon as a signal (c) is outputted from the watchdog timer 4, the counter circuit 5 counts the internal clock and is stopped after a prescribed time. The result (e) of the count is inputted to an arithmetic circuit 6 to calculate the time limit of the watchdog timer 4 and a time limit signal (d) is outputted to a display device 2. Thus, whether or not the watchdog timer 4 functions normally is confirmed.
