PURPOSE:To improve productivity by painting the respective half parts of the inside plates in the front and rear parts of a vehicle body as well as the inner parts around a rear door on one side of the body and a front door on the other side in the 1st painting stage and painting the remaining parts except the above- mentioned parts in the 2nd stage. CONSTITUTION:In the 1st painting stage, a painting robot 51 paints the half part of the inside plate in the front part of the body; a painting robot 52 paints the inside plate around the rear door C2 on one side of the body after opening the rear door by a door opening/closing device 4; the forward robot 51 in the other side part pains the inside plate around the front door C1 after opening the front door on the other side of the body by the door opening/closing device 4 in the other side part; and the backward robot 52 in the other side part paints the half of the inside plate in the rear part of the body. All the doors are closed by the device 4 upon ending of the 1st painting stage. The robots are shifted in forward and backward directions and the remaining parts except the above- mentioned parts are painted in the 2nd painting stage. As a result, the working efficiency of the painting robot is improved and the productivity is improved.
