PURPOSE:To control the wobbling angle of a wobble plate with high accuracy by opening and closing a control valve in accordance with variation in suction pressure in the captioned device which varies the wobbling angle of said wobble plate in accordance with change in cooling load to regulate the capacity of compression. CONSTITUTION:When a compressor is stopped, the pressure of a suction chamber 6 and the crankcase 13 are balanced with each other at a high pressure. The bellows 33 of a control valve 29 is contracted and a feeding passage 37 connecting a discharge chamber 31 to the crankcase 13 is closed by a closing valve 36. That is, the crankcase 13 is connected to the suction chamber 6, giving a large inclination angle to a drive plate 20 and a wobble plate 21. Accordingly, when a drive shaft 17 is driven, the drive plate 20 is rotated to reciprocate a piston 16 with a large stroke. On the other hand, at the start of the compressor, a pressure difference is produced between the crankcase 13 and the suction chamber 6, reducing the inclination angle of the drive plate 20.
