In such a structure, the intake and exhaust openings 16, 17 of intake and exhaust ports 14, 15 are placed on both end sides in the longer diameter direction of the cylinder 12 respectively. And, intake and exhaust valves 20, 21 are installed in such a way that they can be seated on the intake and exhaust openings 16, 17 respectively. On the other hand, the end part of a fuel injection valve 43 is provided on the top-end center part of the cylinder 12. Thereby, the diameters of the intake and exhaust valves 20, 21 can be made larger while the distance between the intake and exhaust ports 14, 15 can be made larger, thereby, attaining a desired end.
