PURPOSE:To keep the heating temp. at the time of rolling low and to secure a good stiffness of the base metal by using what is reducing the S quantity in the stainless steel as a clad material so as to satisfy the specified conditions, by assembling it by welding to the base metal via an Ni inserting material and by performing its hot rolling under the specified conditions. CONSTITUTION:At the time of manufacturing a stainless clad steel plate with a welding assembly - rolling junction method, the stainless steel as the clad material is made to satisfy the conditions of =0.01wt% total S quantity in the steel and =0.003wt% free S quantity and it is assembled by welding on the base metal via an Ni inserting material. The atmosphere is then made =1Torr vacuum degree by vacuum deaeration and a hot rolling is executed under the conditions =1,000 deg.C heating temp. and =700 deg.C finishing temp. A sufficient junction strength is obtd. by the heating =1,000 deg.C due to the S quantity reduction in the stainless steel for clad material and the good product as for the base metal stiffness can be secured.
