IMAGE FORMING METHOD BY PHOTOELECTROPHORESIS

摘要

PURPOSE:To eliminate the limitation of the selection of toner particles and achieve the stabilization of toner images by forming the toner images corresponding to light images on a transparent electrode in the specified process not requiring charge exchanging between photoconductive layer and toner particles. CONSTITUTION:The main electrode opposing to a counter electrode 5 by having a minute clearance has a transparent electrode 2, a photoconductive layer 3 having sustaining inside polarization effect on its inside surface through light radiation and a thin layer 4 having insulation characteristic function. With the insulation-type liquid 7 dispersedly containing charged toner fine particles 8 being held interposed in the minute spacing, DC voltage is applied between the both electrodes and around this time light images are radiated from the electrode 2 side. Next, the both electrodes are shorted or such a voltage which creates an electric field E2 smaller than the electric field E1 created by the internal polarization charge induced by light radiation in the direction opposite from the applied voltage is applied. As a result of this, the toner images corresponding to the light images are formed on the electrode 2.
