PURPOSE:To improve an anti-corrosion and heat transfer characteristics by a method wherein an alloy of nickel-copper with a specified rate of weight ratio is applied as an intermediate member and a cupro-nickel layer at coolant at a contact part between the heat transfer plate and a gasket is removed. CONSTITUTION:A heat transfer plate 1 is composed of a cupro-nickel clad steel plate in which a steel plate is applied as a substrate material 1b, an alloy of copper and nickel containing a nickel with a weight ratio of more than 30%, preferably more than 50% is applied as an intermediate member 1c and a cupro- nickel is applied as a laminated member 1d. In case that the plate is applied in a certain atmosphere of application, in particular such an atmosphere in which a stress corrosion crank is apt to occur, the cupro-nickel layer at the coolant is removed from the contact part between the gasket 2 and the heat transfer plate 1 until the intermediate member 1c is exposed, and thus the stress corrosion cracks at the part can be prevented.
