PREVENTIVE AND REMEDY FOR DISSEMINATING VASCULAR COAGULATION SYNDROME

PURPOSE:To provide the titled high-safety preventive and remedy containing lentinan known as a carcinostatic agent, exhibiting preventive effect against disseminating vascular coagulation syndrome and having higher activity than heparin as a symptomatic treatment agent. CONSTITUTION:Disseminating vascular coagulation syndrome (DIC) is a syndrome characterized by the activation of coagulation system in the blood vessel to form a number of minute thrombi in the capillary vessels in the whole body, the decomposition of coagulation factor (e.g. platelet, fibrinogen, etc.) to effect the coagulation disorder and the remarkable hemorrhage. Lentinan has DIC- preventive effect as well as remedying effect in contrast with heparin which is a DIC remedy free from preventive effect. It can be administered by various oral or parenteral administration methods.
