Weft yarn insert system for air jet weaving loom - has main insert blower and fixed upstream auxiliary main blower for each yarn

The system is intended for inserting weft yarns (1,2) into the shed (3) of an air jet weaving loom with a main insert blower (4). At least one auxiliary main blower (5,6) arranged in a fixed (9) position. upstream of the blower (4) is provided with a variable passage for the transport fluid (air) and with a controlled drive (7,8) to vary this passage. The passage of the main blower may be similarly controllable and this blower may be arranged on the reed (10) assembly, e.g. on the rocking shaft (11), or in a fixed position, i.e. on the loom frame (9). - Control is pref. effected by a unit (20) responding to yarn parameters measured (21,22) during insertion and possibly prior to insertion (at the yarn feed bobbins or weft preparation units (18,19)). Details of variable blowers are specified and embodiments illustrated.
