The plastics building blocks are thin plates which may be triangles, squares or any other regular polygon. The straight edges of all blocks are the same length and each side carries a slot (B) and a protrusion (A), which are so placed that the edges of adjacent blocks can be clipped together to form simple three-dimensional shapes, e.g. pyramids, cubes, octahedrons, etc. More complex shapes can be made by combining different shaped polygons. - The shapes built-up using the blocks can be used as teaching aids in geometry, architecture, etc. The blocks can also be used as a toy in the form of a three-dimensional jig-saw puzzle. Lampshades may be constructed using blocks of different colours or opacities. A shape which is particularly suitable for lampshades is a rhombus with a given diagonal ratio. (FL)(1/4)
