Novel 5-fluoroacylamino-4-nitro-1-aryl-pyrazoles of the formula IMAGE in which R represents alkyl which is substituted by fluorine and Ar represents in each case optionally substituted phenyl or pyridyl, exhibit herbicidal and plant growth-regulating activity. The nitro-free corresponding intermediates are also novel.
