The invention relates to a cleaning unit combination for cleaning coastal water W and coastal regions S which are polluted by oil O. The combination comprises at least one brush 1 with an arm and a collecting container 6 which, as a part of the container or separately, has a scraper or the like for removing the oil which sticks to the brush and in order to direct the oil into the container. The aim is to produce a combination which, to the greatest extent possible, facilitates and rationalizes this form of manual cleaning work. The brush of the combination, the novelty, comprises an essentially cylindrical brush-bearing part 2 and an arm 3 fastened centrally to the brush part. The cleaning unit for the brush part is mounted in association with the container 6 and comprises a casing part 7 with a shape which corresponds to the brush-bearing part, the casing being capable of receiving the brush-bearing part, and the casing has a scraper blade 9 which is mounted internally in the casing on a bearing 8 and which pushes in between the brushes on the brush-bearing part, and when the brush is rotated in one direction or when the brush is pulled out, scrapes oil from the brushes and directs the oil into the container 6. The scraper blade can be designed as a saw blade, the mutual spacing of the teeth preferably corresponding to the mutual spacing between the brushes which are arranged in a ring.
