摘要

The equipment produces an economic soln. to the treatment of continuous, horizontally moving material by an X-ray beam produced from an accelerated electron beam moving vertically downwards. Treatment directly by an electron beam is also made possible by the use of static deflector magnets to direct the electron beam at the heavy metal target object at the optimum angle. - The beam discharge of the electron accelerator is provided with a deflector magnet which produces a magnetic field parallel to the axis of the electron beam moving vertically down.
