Fractionated and opt. surface treated powder prods. with paticles size below 10 micrometer are prepd. in sugar mills by opt. injecting the surface treating material with the ingoing iar stream, using the energy of the outgoing air-powder suspension stream to transport the main prod. having pref. less than 10 micrometer particle size to an aerodynamic separator where it is deposited, using the remaining airflow to produce and deposit further fractions in aerodynamic separators, while the coarse fraction is returned to the mill.
