The insulating tile is for mounting on roofs and galleries etc., being at least partly of plastics. It comprises a plastics casing (5) filled with insulating material (6). The plastics used can be resistant to ultra-violet light and acid. The top surface of the tile can be roughened or profiled, while profiled portions at the sides can be used to fit adjacent tiles together. The filler material can be gas, liquid, or granular or solid material.
