Process for hydrocracking a hydrocarbon feedstock to middle distillate fractions of b.pt. 300-700 deg.F, comprises contacting at hydrocracking conditions with a catalyst compsn. comprising a mixt. of 1st and 2nd hydrothermally treated Y zeolite components intimately mixed with a refractory inorganic oxide, the unit cell sizes of the Y zeolite components ranging from about 24.20 to 24.35 A, and the difference between the unit cell sizes of the 1st and 2nd zeolite being at least 0.1 A. Hydrocracking is pref. effected at 200-1500 deg.F, 0-3000 psig, and LHSV 0.1-15. The refractory inorg. oxide is pref. Al2O3, SiO2 (pref. concn. 1-75 wt.%), SiO2-Al2O3 (pref. concn. 5-95 wt.%), a mixt. of SiO2-Al2O3 and Al2O3, MgO, TiO2, ZrO2, or other mixts. of these. The 1st and 2nd hydrothermally treated Y zeolites have unit cell sizes about 24.25 and 24.35 A. respectively. The concn. of each is 1.0-20.0 wt.%; and their concn. ratio is 0.1:1 to 10:1. The catalyst may also contain hydrogenation metals from Gp. VIa (pref. W) and/or Gp. VIII (pref. Ni).
