Intermittent detector for continuous flows. Main use in chromatographs for liquid or gas. It contains a variable storage volume which is filled by the continuous flow. When this has taken place, the collected substance is emptied into a measurement cell, and the storage volume starts to fill again. In the measurement cell, a characteristic of the substance is measured, after which the measurement cell is emptied immediately before new substance is transferred from the storage volume. IMAGE
