Granite-like glass crystalline material for structural decorative use

The material based on spherulite crystals of beta-wollastonite, has the compsn. (in wt.%):SiO2 55.0-60.0, Al2O3 6.0-9.0, CaO 17.0-25.0, MgO 3.0-10.0, K2O 5.0-7.0, Na2O 1.0-2.0 and F- 1.0-2.5. The total of SiO2, Al2O3 and CaO is less than 87 wt.%. The compsn. may contain one or more oxidic colouring materials in an amt. 0.05-4.0 wt.% or colloidal. The material is used as an interior or exterior decorative structural material for buildings, underground railway stations etc. It has excellent decorative and physical and mechanical properties and may be made by simple conventional technology.
