The assembly to make a handling hook has a fairly long arm joined to a fairly short one by a curved part. The face ends of the arms are separated sufficiently to allow a sling to enter between them and be withdrawn. A locking lever is pivoted on the hook, near the end of the long arm. This moves between an open position and a closed one, when the lever touches the end of the short arm. There is a fixing on the lever and a hole for a lifting cable worked by a lifting mechanism.
