The materials are made by (a) heating a hydrated salt to well above its m.pt.; (b) stirring the molten salt and adding nucleating agents and dispersants; (c) opt. adding a set amount of water; (d) placing the mixt. in cylindrical containers of much greater length than diameter, which are subsequently sealed hermetically and grouped into compact assemblies through which the fluid acting as thermal carrier circulates, for storage of energy.
