Feed supplement, for improving the diet of animals, is made by (a) dissolving a complex salt of iron and methionine of formula (i) (in which X is halide, sulphate or phosphate, y is 1 or 2, and w and z are whole numbers which balance the ionic and anionic charges) in water; (b) heating the soln. for 1 hour at 60 deg. C; (c) drying the soln. in an oven for 30 mins. at 5 deg. C; and (d) pulverising the dry mass.
