Pressurized water reactor plant comprising a pressurized pool (2) provided with a cover and filled with pool liquid in the form of water with a relatively high concentration of a neutron-absorbing agent, a cooling device (56) for the pool liquid, a plurality of vertical fuel assemblies arranged to be traversed by a reactor coolant in the form of water with a relatively low concentration of a neutron-absorbing agent during normal reactor operation, said reactor coolant being pressurized in said pool with the same overpressure as said pool liquid, and a plurality of steam generators (22) arranged to be traversed in the primary circuits by said reacor coolant and being each provided with an inlet conduit (28) for feed water and an outlet conduit (27) for generated steam. According to the invention said fuel assemblies are distributed on a plurality of reactor modules (4) which are located adjacent each other and which each comprise one reactor core (7), one reactor vessel (9) and one steam generator (22). Each reactor vessel surrounds a corresponding steam generator arranged vertically above the reactor core. Between the reactor core and the steam generator, the reactor vessel is divided into one lower (9 sec ) and one upper (9 min ) vessel portion, these portions being mechanically and hydraulically connected to each other by means of a detachable connection device (52, 51) operatable from above. The steam generator (22) is fixed to a wall portion of said pool, and said lower vessel portion (9 sec ) rests on a foundation provided in the pool permitting horizontal movement of said lower vessel portion such that it can be moved - after said connection device has been detached - in lateral direction to a position in which its reactor core is accessible for refuelling.
