Abstract of the DisclosureDisclosed is a system for conditioning a load usingcirculation of temperature controlled water where there isprovided thermal storage means for holding varying volumesof water at different temperatures and the storage meanscomprises at least one tank having a constant cross-sectionbetween opposed vertical ends. A disc between the ends ofthe -tank separates the tank into first and second variablevolume chambers and prevents blending of water at different-temperatures in the chambers. Conduits selectively feed waterinto one chamber while simultaneously removing water from theother chamber, the disc means moving in the tank in accordancewith the feeding and withdrawal of water from the chamberswhereby the volume of water in each chamber may vary but thetotal volume of water in the tank means is substantiallyconstant. The disc is maintained substantially perpendicularto a vertical axis of the tank during its movement within thetank by a cable and pulley mechanism or vertical guides inassociation with the disc.
