- 1 -ORGANOFUNCTIONAL SILANE-SILOXANE OLIGOMER COUPLINGCOMPOSITIONS, CURABLE AND CURED ELASTOMERICCOMPOSITIONS CONTAINING SAME AND NOVEL ELECTRICALCABLE CONTAINING SAID CURED ELASTOMERIC COMPOSITIONSAbstract Of The DisclosureNovel coupling compositions for improvingadhesion between an organic elastomer and aninorganic substrate comprise (A) an ethylenicallyunsaturated silane, having bonded to silicon, atleast one hydroxy group and/or alkoxy group reactivewith the inorganic substrate and at least oneethylenically unsaturated group polymerizable withthe organic elastomeric matrix; (B) anorganosiloxane oligomer, having bonded to silicon,at least one hydroxy and/or alkoxy group reactivewith said inorganic substrate; and (C) optionally,an ethylenically unsaturated organosiloxaneoligomer, having bonded to silicon, at least oneethylenically unsaturated group polymerizable withsaid organic elastomeric matrix.The novel curable compositions contain thenovel coupling compositions, an organic elastomer,an inorganic filler, and a peroxide crosslinkingagent. The novel cured compositions are produced byheating the novel curable composition to atemperature above the decomposition temperature ofthe peroxide thereby inducing crosslinking of theorganic elastomer.
