The radio communication system for digital information incorporates time compression before transmission of the information blocks between the individual stations. The frequency range is sub-divided into a number of partial ranges with a respective transmitter (S1..S6) tuned to each of these. The inputs (a1..a6) of the transmitters (S1..S6) are coupled to the same subscriber speech terminals via a coupling field with an associated coupling control (VS, ES1..ES6) for switching through one of the transmitters (S1..S6) in dependence on the frequency fed in the speech direction.
