The invention relates to an intake system for a multicylinder internal combustion engine with fuel injection and exhaust gas recirculation, in which a box-shaped air duct housing contains a mixing duct, in the mixing section of which, in partial load operation of the internal combustion engine, recirculated exhaust gas mixes with the combustion air emanating from the clean air side lying downstream of an air filter and flowing in by way of a fixed throttle, and the mixing section of which in full load operation is bypassed by a main portion of the combustion air, which portion passes directly from the clean air side, by way of an opened air control flap, into the distributor volume of the air duct housing, which distributor volume is connected to the intake pipes of the internal combustion engine.
