摘要
It is known that a commutator is required for DC and AC motors. With a cylindrical armature, in the case of which in each case one slipring is fitted on both sides, the previous commutator is omitted. Power is supplied to the armature via the two sliprings. The stator consists of inner and outer poles in whose central part the rotatable cylinder (armature) is arranged. During operation as a DC motor, direct current is supplied to the cylinder (armature) and to the stator. During operation as a DC generator, a DC voltage could be picked off on the sliprings. During operation as an AC motor, alternating current is supplied to the stator winding which is connected in series with the armature. During operation as a three-phase motor, three-phase windings are inserted into the stator. In this case, the electric motor runs as a three-phase squirrel-cage motor. In this case, the brushes on the sliprings are lifted off.
