A firing weapon having a shaft on which a guide track (which is open at the top over at least part of its length) for a projectile is mounted, which guide track has guide surfaces which are inclined at an angle other than 180 DEG with respect to one another, and having a drive device (which has a spring and can be released by means of a trigger device) for the arrow, preferably a crossbow, in the case of which the drive device has a bow with a cord, is characterised in that the guide track can be fixed and can rotate about an axis which is essentially parallel to the shaft, relative to said shaft. In consequence, errors caused by tilting can be avoided.
